If I Were Free

Long but tiny shackles of gold
Infinity defined by a glass dome
Freedom is all but an illusion for me
Yet I think of if I were free

Hath ages adorned no damage of fate
And let me cross the conventional gates
There would be more of me now
And to none of the masters would I ever bow

Fence life with spirit and light
And lift myself on an adventure flight
Roam around like a free bird
Bloom if I weren’t curbed in a bud

Beyond horizons beyond restrictions
Over a burden of rudimentary expectations
Would have galloped like a horse and soared like a lark
And met life at the juncture of dawn and dark

But trapped is my life, my spirit all gone

If I were free is just a thought forlorn.

The Queen

The walls sing to her a symphony dry
Of life that flutters by her closed window pane
And some dim lit lamps blatantly glorify
The ageless wait for her lover in a luxurious den

She has a story to tell
The one of big halls but closed doors
Of colours and hues
And grandeur but also blues

A story of a girl full of life
But who lost herself in some vain strife
For name maybe that of a queen
But reality is grave and often unseen

Her face is now shadowed by a lull
But tearing her apart is a raging storm
What had she got in name of fortune’s call
A caged bird she was to be part of some historic form.

DROPS OF BLISS

Hazy mantel of inky clouds,
Prance on the afternoon sky.
Meandering winds leisurely collide,
To show mercy to Earth - so dry.
       Dusty leaves expectantly wait,
To breathe fresh green and drink deep sea.
And azure heavens burdened at once
Smile, oblige, and set all free.
Crippling the pond-waiting to be filled;
Kissing the old palm tree leaves;
Lashing, windy droplets of bliss,
Cast a spell of playful glee.
       Children splash virgin puddles in fun;
Roaming and drenching in alienated lanes,
Rejoicing, as waters calmly embellish the day,
I kiss the canvas of this first rain.

A SOUL TRAPPED IN AMBER

-INSPIRED BY THIS PIC CLICKED BY ARUNDHATI CHATTERJEE....:)

n yes this is not melancholic....:P

LAUGH, AS MUCH AS YOU CAN
PITY YOUR HEART OUT FOR ME.
BUT PITY IS FOR YOU, NOT ME
EVEN THOUGH, I AM A SOUL TRAPPED IN AMBER.

YOU THINK MY LIFE IS BOUND IN THIS TINY BALL?
THEN YOUR THOUGHTS ARE WORTH NOTHING AT ALL.
CAUSE I TWIST AND TURN, WITH EYES WIDE OPEN
TO SEE A WORLD BEYOND THIS GREEN SPECTRUM.

I LIVE WITH WISH AND WITH HOPE
AND WITH THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY I'LL SURELY ELOPE.
YOU SEE YOUR WORLD FULL OF MISERY
BUT NATURE'S BEAUTY AND GLEAM IS ALL I SEE.

MIRTH AND HAPPINESS SEEM COALESCING IN ME-
YOU HATH NO EFFECT ON ME, FORLORN STYMIE!
PROCRASTINATE ME FOR HOW LONG YOU WANT
BUT I AM DESTINED FOR WORLD, OUTSIDE OF THIS BOND.

I'LL GLIDE IN SKY, AS A CARELESS BIRD.
FLOAT THE SEA, AND DO THINGS ABSURD.
WALLOW IN SNOW, FOR NIGHT AND DAY.
GALLOP LIKE A HORSE, AND DO THE WIND AWAY.

LAUGH AT MY QUEER WISH, O WHY?
IF RAPUNZEL WAS LUCKY, SO CAN I.
SO PLAY WITH ME FOR THE REMAINING TIME-
SOON I'LL BE FREE, LEAVING THIS PULVERIZED CHIME.
